Valimaki was recalled from AHL Chicago on Monday, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.
Analysis:Valimaki is set to serve as the Hurricanes' seventh defenseman while he's up from the minors. The 27-year-old hasn't played in the NHL since 2024-25, when he was with Utah, so it's unlikely he gets in the lineup unless there is an injury. Valimaki has accounted for two PIM and a minus-4 rating over two games to start the year with the Wolves.
