Sanford tallied 18 rushes for 62 yards and gathered in 2 of 3 targets for 30 yards during Saturday's 27-17 victory against UCF.
Analysis:Sanford received more rushing attempts than Makhi Hughes for the second straight game Saturday, this time nearly doubling his teammates attempts and more than doubling Hughes' yards. Sanford may have stolen the backfield from his accomplished teammate, and it's a backfield that generates a lot of opportunites to produce. Even if Sanford is now the lead back, Hughes will continue to get a large workload, so the most likely scenario is that the two will just split the backfield moving forward.
