Robertson was designated for waivers by the Rangers on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Analysis:Robertson hasn't played in any of the Rangers' first four games and the team finds itself in need of some forward depth. As such, it appears Robertson was the odd man out in the Big Apple. If he clears, the Edmonton native will be reassigned to AHL Hartford while another player, likely a center, is brought up to face the Islanders on Tuesday.
