Illinois' offensive coordinator Barry Lunney Jr. hinted Monday that Platt (undisclosed) may be available as soon as Saturday's game at Michigan State, Jeremy Werner of 247Sports reports.
Analysis:Lunney spoke to the media Monday about Platt, saying not only that the wide receiver would be immediately integrated Illinois' offense upon his availability but also that it may come sooner rather than later. "When Jayshon's healthy and ready to roll, he'll bring a dynamic to us that's very unique to this football team, whether that's this week or next game," Lunney said. So with that in mind, there poses at least a slight possibility Platt is off Illinois' injury report sometime before Week 6.
