Nielsen scored two goals in AHL Colorado's 5-3 win over Tucson on Sunday.
Analysis:Nielsen had a career year with 49 points over 66 regular-season outings for the Eagles last year. The 26-year-old forward probably won't see much action with the Avalanche, but he should be a reliable minor-league scorer.
