Cardwell logged three assists in AHL San Jose's 5-4 overtime win over San Diego on Sunday.
Analysis:Cardwell cleared waivers prior to the start of the NHL campaign, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him get a call-up. He had 15 points over 24 regular-season games with the Barracuda last year, though he had topped the 40-point mark in his first two years in the AHL.
