Freeling (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday night's contest against the Lions, Mike Kaye of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:Freeling suffered a knee injury in the third quarter, and his night has now officially come to a premature end. In his absence, Stone Forsythe has taken over as the team's starting right tackle. Freeling will have a chance to get some extra rest during the team's bye week in Week 5 before Carolina returns to action Oct. 18 against the Eagles.
