Bates (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's game against Utah State.
Analysis:Bates was unable to clear the injury report after being listed as questionable by the team earlier in the week. Boise State will be without a reliable target, as he has hauled in eight receptions for 59 yards and two touchdowns across four games. Akeem Wright and Ben Ford are positioned to see more targets.
