Owens (back) is not participating in Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage, according to Ben Steele of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Analysis:For the Marquette program, preseason is back and so is Owens in terms of enrollment after he logged his freshman and sophomore seasons with the Golden Eagles. Unfortunately for him, a back injury will limit his participation in Saturday's tune-up. On the plus side, the Golden Eagles' preseason schedule includes multiple exhibition games, giving him as many chances to return before the regular season begins. Up next for Marquette is an Oct. 19 game with Wisconsin-Green Bay.
