Gutierrez is expected to cede the starting quarterback position to Braxton Woodson (ankle) upon his return but is projected to remain involved in the Navy's offense for games, Brent Briggeman of The Gazette reports.
Analysis:Even though Woodson is expected back soon, the Navy has been successful splitting snaps with their two quarterbacks, and it seems that will be how they operate under center moving forward. Even with a healthy Woodson, Gutierrez logged two rushing touchdowns in Week 1. Without Woodson, Gutierrez stepped up with both his passing and rushing, logging 100 passing yards and getting at least one touchdown with his feet.
