Espi was not included in the squad for Saturday's clash against Czechia, which may be a decision specific to his case, according to Alfredo Martinez of Onda Cero Radio.
Analysis:Espi had been promoted from the Spain U21s to the senior national team as a replacement for the injured Ferran Torres, coming off a five goal, two assist performance in the 13-0 win over San Marino. He has remained behind Kylian Mbappe in Real Madrid's center forward hierarchy but has been highly efficient in limited action, scoring twice from four shots in 25 minutes across four LaLiga appearances.
