The Texans hosted Walthall for a tryout Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis:The Jets waived Walthall from injured reserve with an injury settlement in early August. The wide receiver appears to have finally recovered from his undisclosed injury and is ready to return to NFL football. Walthall could be competing with Justin Shorter for a practice squad or active-roster spot with the Texans.
