Nichols reverted to the Steelers' practice squad Friday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Analysis:Nichols played nine special-teams snaps Thursday in his second elevation to the active roster in 2026. The running back saw zero offensive snaps and did not appear in the box score. Nichols has one remaining elevation before the Steelers will need to sign the 25-year-old to the active roster for him to appear in any more regular-season games.
