Shaw could return against Fulham on Sunday after missing Thursday's Carabao Cup match against Brighton, though his status remains uncertain, according to coach Michael Carrick. "There is a chance on both really. Not totally 100 per cent yet. It is really short term [with Luke], to be honest, but we're just working towards the game."
Analysis:Shaw has missed the last three matches but could now return to contention for Sunday's trip to Fulham. Manager Michael Carrick described the issue as short term and will make a final assessment before kickoff, giving Shaw a chance to return to the XI before the international break. If he is not cleared in time, Patrick Dorgu should continue at left-back.
