TCU's Nate McCashland: In competition for placekicking

Rotowire• ·

McCashland is in a competition with Kyle Lemmermann to determine TCU's primary placekicker, Steven Johnson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Analysis:

Back in Week 1 of 2025, Lemmermann suffered a long-term injury that allowed McCashland to serve as TCU's primary placekicker, an opportunity he successfully took advantage of to establish himself. McCashland made nine of 12 field goal attempts and all 42 of his extra-point attempts. Now that Lemmermann is healthy, he has been able to attempt TCU's lone field goal of 2026, though McCashland has provided stiff competition by remaining perfect in extra-point attempts, highlighted by the nine he made against Grambling in Week 2.
