Juventus captain Manuel Locatelli has been ruled out after undergoing knee surgery, the record 36-time Serie A winners announced on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old midfielder suffered the injury in Sunday's 1-1 draw with AC Milan and joins winger Kenan Yildiz and midfielder Khephren Thuram in being sidelined for a long spell.
Locatelli is expected to be out for between four and six months, according to local media.
"The operation, performed by Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet in the presence of the club's doctor, Dr. Marco Freschi, at the Hopital Prive Jean Mermoz in Lyon, was a complete success," Juve said.
"The player will begin his scheduled rehabilitation programme tomorrow," they added.
Turkey's Yildiz will be out for at least two months after having foot surgery, while France's Thuram will only return in the new year due to a knee issue.
Juve won the last of their Serie A titles in 2020 and are in sixth place in this season's table after three rounds before heading to Sassuolo on Sunday.
