Japan forward Keito Nakamura has joined Lyon from second division Reims for one million euros on a four-year deal, the Ligue 1 side said on Wednesday.
The total package could rise to 20 million euros ($23.2 million) with add-ons, while Reims have negotiated a 12.5 percent sell-on clause.
The 26-year-old started his professional career at Gamba Osaka in his homeland before moving to Europe in 2019, where he joined Dutch club Twente on loan.
A further loan at Belgians Sint-Truiden followed before Nakamura moved to Austria, where he played for Juniors OO and then LASK.
He spent the last three seasons at Reims, two of which were in Ligue 1 before they were relegated in 2025.
He has scored 11 goals in 29 matches for the Blue Samurai and netted against the Netherlands at the recent World Cup.
