Armenta will be Louisiana-Monroe's starting quarterback Saturday at Mississippi State, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:2026 will mark Armenta's third season for Louisiana-Monroe, and by being named starting quarterback for Week 1, he will continue to play under center for the ULM team. In 2024, the quarterback completed 54.7 percent of 190 pass attempts for 1,292 yards and a 9-10 TD-INT ratio. Even though Armenta's 2025 was not so great, he noticeably improved, finishing the year with a 58.5 completion percentage on 253 pass attempts for 1,629 yards and a 12-8 TD-INT ratio, an improvement in all categories. Should the senior improve again, he may establish himself as one of the Sun Belt Conference's better QBs this year.
