Echavarria registered a five-over cumulative score at the BMW Championship to finish in last place.
Analysis:Echavarria opened the tournament with a one-under 69 but proceeded to go seven-over across his next 36 holes, which was enough for him to fester at the bottom of the leaderboard. He lost a whopping 8.91 strokes off the tee, which was by far the worst in the field in St. Louis and outdid his solid work on the greens (plus-2.49 strokes gained with his putter). Echavarria also finished dead last in GIR and 47th in both driving distance and accuracy. He slipped to 45th in the FedExCup Standings, eliminating him from playoff contention, but Echavarria is guaranteed a spot in all Signature Events in 2027. His next chance to play on the PGA Tour is Sept. 17 at the Biltmore Championship Asheville in North Carolina.
