Robert MacIntyre: Punches ticket to TOUR Championship

Rotowire ·

MacIntyre carded a five-under 65 in the final round of the BMW Championship to finish tied with Maverick McNealy for seventh.

Analysis:

MacIntyre dropped to 36th in the FedExCup Standings after withdrawing from last week's St. Jude Championship due to a knee injury. He needed a big performance in St. Louis to jump into the top-30 of the Standings to qualify for the TOUR Championship. The Scotsman did just that thanks to Sunday's round, his best score of the tournament that included five birdies over his final 11 holes. MacIntyre led the field at Bellerive Country Club in GIR while ranking second in feet of putts made, fourth in SG: OTT, T10 in driving accuracy and in the top-20 in SG: Approach and Around. MacIntyre's efforts moved him up 11 spots to 25th in the FedExCup Standings, punching his ticket to next week's TOUR Championship and a spot in all four majors in 2027. He finished T17 in last year's TOUR.
