Morikawa carded a two-under 68 in the final round of the BMW Championship to finish tied with Gary Woodland and Chris Gotterup for fourth.
Analysis:Morikawa opened the final round with consecutive birdies to get himself within striking distance of Wyndham Clark and others at the top of the leaderboard. However, Morikawa carded a double bogey on the par-3 sixth hole, and every subsequent gained stroke seemed to be met with a dropped shot, including an eagle on the par-5 17th and a bogey on the par-4 18th. He led the field in St. Louis in feet of putts made while ranking T2 in birdies, seventh in SG: Off-the-Tee, 12th in SG: Approach and 14th in SG: Putting. Morikawa will tee off next week at the TOUR Championship, where he finished solo second in 2024 and T19 last year.
