Richard is expected to play a key role in Indiana's three-headed rushing attack to open the 2026 season, according to Michael Niziolek of The Indianapolis Star.
Analysis:The Hoosiers have yet to define a game plan for their rushing offense ahead of the 2026 season opener against North Texas on Sep. 5, but they could opt for a three-headed rushing attack. That would include Richard as well as Khobie Martin and Lee Beebe (knee), though most of the workload would be handled by Richard and Martin, as Beebe is coming back from an ACL injury. Richard spent the 2025 season at Boston College, recording 145 carries for 749 yards and nine touchdowns, as well as 30 catches for 213 yards and two scores, in 11 contests.
