Mazzoli carded a six-under 66 in the final round of the Corales Puntacana Championship to win the tournament by one stroke over Gordon Sargent and Todd Clements.
Analysis:Mazzoli moved up the leaderboard over the weekend with back-to-back rounds of 66, and his birdie on the 72nd hole was enough for him to break the three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard for his first professional victory. Most of his success came with his putter, as he finished second in both putts per GIR and feet of putts made while ranking eighth in SG: Putting, as well as T3 in GIR, fourth in SG: Approach and 11th in SG: Off-the-Tee. It was a crucial victory for Mazzoli, given that this event was co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and PGA Tour. As a result, he rose all the way up to 39th in the Race to Dubai Rankings, with the top-10 not otherwise exempt earning a PGA Tour membership for 2027. The DP World Tour will resume Aug. 13 at the Danish Golf Championship.
