Newell (rest) has been ruled out for Tuesday's Salt Lake City Summer League game against the Grizzlies, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
Analysis:Newell will sit out the second half of this back-to-back set. His next opportunity to suit up will come Thursday in the Hawks' Las Vegas Summer League opener against the Spurs.
