The White Sox placed Pereira on the 7-day concussion injured list Thursday.
Analysis:
Pereira made a terrific leaping grab in Wednesday's game versus the Yankees to rob Ben Rice of extra bases, but he collided with the wall on the play and is now out with a concussion. He was playing in just his third game since returning from a six-plus week absence with a pectoral strain. As is the case with any concussion, Pereira faces an uncertain return timetable.
