After a modest start to the tournament, Hovland surged up the leaderboard over the weekend with rounds of 64-65 to climb into the top-5, although he was never truly in contention to win. In his usual form, he was carried by his iron play as he led the field in SG: Approach for the tournament. It was a much needed showing for Hovland, as his previous best finish this year was a T10 in February. He's now up to 53rd in the FedExCup Standings.
