Staumont (undisclosed) was released by the Reds on Tuesday.
Analysis:
Staumont was placed on the 7-day injured list to begin the campaign due to an undisclosed injury, and it's not clear at this time whether he's been given a clean bill of health. The right-hander made eight appearances in the minor leagues in May while on a rehab assignment, including four in the Arizona Complex League and four at High-A, posting a 1.29 ERA and 0.86 WHIP with an 11:3 K:BB over seven innings.
