The Rockies acquired Martin from the Rangers on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations.
Analysis:
It's likely this is simply a move to give the Rockies some organizational infield depth. Martin has hit .234/.345/.362 with four homers and 12 steals at Triple-A Round Rock this season. He has not played at the major-league level since 2022.
