Sorsby (not injury related) is out for the first two games of Texas Tech's 2026 season, ESPN reports.
Analysis:
Assuming that Sorsby remains eligible for the 2026 season, granted with a preliminary injunction on his court case, he would still have to take the gambling-offense punishment suggested by his legal team, which was two games. That means he would be out not only for Texas Tech's season opener (Sept. 5 against Abilene Christian) but also for a Week 2 road game at Oregon State. The earliest Sorsby can play for TTU is Sept. 18 against fellow Big 12 team Houston.
