Tony Finau: T6 at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson

Finau posted a bogey-free, six-under 65 in the final round of THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson to finish tied with Zach Bauchou and Tom Hoge for sixth.

Analysis:

Finau's best round of the tournament was his bogey-free, eight-under 63 on Friday that included three-straight birdies over the final three holes. Given that it was a low-scoring event, Finau's two-under 69 score Saturday dropped him out of serious contention for his seventh PGA Tour win. However, he did enough Sunday to jump six spots up the leaderboard for his best finish of the 2026 season and his best performance since his T5 at The Genesis Invitational in February of 2025. Finau finished the tournament third in both GIR and SG: Off-the-Tee, fourth in driving distance, T5 in birdies made and in the top-20 in both SG: Approach and Around-the-Green. Finau is in the field for the Charles Schwab Challenge next week, where he finished T17 in his last outing in 2024 and has made the cut in eight of nine previous appearances, including T4 in 2022 and solo second in 2019.
