Los Angeles Lakers All-Star LeBron James wants to stay with the organization beyond the Feb. 6 trade deadline following the blockbuster acquisition of Luka Doncic, NBA insider Chris Haynes reports.

The Lakers were reportedly appreciative of the professionalism displayed by James and the CEO of Klutch Sports, Rich Paul, and believe their positive attitude made the deal possible.

James denied a report that claimed he had grown frustrated with Anthony Davis. He was unaware that a trade was brewing and found out while at dinner with his family after Los Angeles' 123-112 win against the New York Knicks on Sunday night, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Dallas general manager Nico Harrison - who was a Nike representative for Davis prior to getting the job with the Mavericks - has been after the 31-year-old forward for nearly two seasons, per Haynes.

Doncic, 25, has been sidelined since Dec. 27 with a calf injury. The Slovenian is averaging 28.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 7.8 assists in 22 games this campaign.

Los Angeles sits fifth in the West and will take on the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.
