Report: Astros receiving trade calls on Tucker
The Houston Astros received trade inquiries regarding star outfielder Kyle Tucker, sources told The Athletic's Chandler Rome.
Astros general manager Dana Brown said Monday that the club is prepared to "listen on anybody" in trade conversations.
The Astros are willing to listen to trade calls on Tucker and ace left-hander Framber Valdez, Rome reports. Tucker is entering his final season under team control and is projected to earn $15.8 million in arbitration, according to MLB Trade Rumors.
The 27-year-old has blossomed into one of the game's best all-around outfielders during seven seasons with the Astros. Tucker has made three consecutive All-Star Games and helped the Astros win the 2022 World Series. He owns a lifetime .870 OPS with 125 home runs, 417 RBIs, and 94 stolen bases across 633 games.
"We’re not trying to aggressively move anybody out the door, but if someone wants to talk, that’s part of being at the Winter Meetings," Brown said.
Valdez owns a lifetime 3.30 ERA with 866 strikeouts across 888 2/3 innings. The 31-year-old put together a strong season in 2024, posting a 15-7 record with a 2.91 ERA and 169 strikeouts in 28 starts.
Valdez is also entering his final season of control and is projected to earn $17.8 million in arbitration.
