George: 'I'm 100% betting' 76ers will turn season around
Paul George is remaining optimistic amid the Philadelphia 76ers' poor start to the 2024-25 campaign.
While speaking to reporters at practice Tuesday, the 76ers forward issued a guarantee that the team will be able to turn things around.
"I mean, obviously, we're a little limited, but I think what we can control is just our effort, our energy, and just doing things a little harder, but we'll change this. We'll change this around," George said, according to Ky Carlin of Sixers Wire. "I'm 100% betting down on that that we'll change this. It's on us. We got to control what we can."
The 76ers fell to 3-14 with a 122-115 overtime loss to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, giving them the second-worst record in the NBA.
George, who signed a four-year deal with the 76ers in July, has only played in eight games this season due to a knee injury but is hopeful he'll be back on the court next week. Philadelphia has also been without big man Joel Embiid for much of the season so far.
The 76ers will be back in action Saturday against the Detroit Pistons.
