Rahm withdraws from LIV event in Houston due to injury

Jon Rahm withdrew from the LIV event in Texas on Saturday due to an injury, less than a week before the start of the U.S. Open.

The world's seventh-ranked golfer ended his round prematurely after sinking a par putt on No. 10, his sixth hole of the day.

Rahm was at 3-under when he withdrew, five shots back of leader Adrian Meronk.

The Spaniard missed the cut at the PGA Championship in May. Before that, he tied for 45th at The Masters, a tournament he won last year. However, Rahm arrived at Augusta on a streak of seven straight top-10 finishes on the LIV circuit.

Rahm claimed his other major title at the U.S. Open in 2021.
