Will Ferrell is hitting the green for his latest role.

The actor will portray a fictional golf legend in Netflix's new scripted comedy series "Golf," the streaming service announced Wednesday. Ferrell co-created the 10-episode series with Josh Rabinowitz ("The Carmichael Show") and Ramy Youssef ("Ramy"), the latter of whom will also star in the show.

Deadline's Nellie Andreeva reported in April 2023 that Ferrell was developing a series about a professional golfer who becomes the face of a "controversial new league competing with the PGA," though it's not yet known if "Golf" will follow this premise. The report stated that the series had a similar tone to Ferrell's 2006 NASCAR comedy "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby."

The 56-year-old Ferrell is an avid golfer who's hosted the Will Powered Golf Classic, a charity celebrity golf tournament, for two decades.
