Toronto forward Natalie Spooner is out for the remainder of the playoffs after sustaining a knee injury in Monday's Game 3 loss against Minnesota.

Spooner led the league with 20 goals in 24 games - nine more than second place - and paced the PWHL with 27 points. She had one goal and two points in three playoff games.

The 33-year-old was injured in a collision with Minnesota forward Grace Zumwinkle in the third period.

"It's a big loss for us, obviously. Natalie has been an important part of our success all year," Toronto general manager Gina Kingsbury said. "We have no doubt Natalie will continue to have an impact on our team, just in a different way."

Toronto activated veteran forward Jess Jones after placing Spooner on long-term injured reserve.

Game 4 is Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. Toronto will advance to the Walter Cup Final against Boston with a victory.
