McClung plans to debut 2 new dunks at Slam Dunk contest
Reigning NBA Slam Dunk champion Mac McClung is ready to defend his title with two moves he says have never been done.
In an interview with TMZ Sports ahead of Saturday's Slam Dunk contest at NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis, McClung revealed he has a pair of new dunks planned for the event.
"I think I have three dunks that haven't been done in a contest before, but I think two of them haven't been done by anybody before," he said. "So I hope I can make them - if I make them, I'll be happy.
"But we put a lot of effort into it and hope it goes well."
McClung, who plays for the G League's Osceola Magic, won the 2023 Slam Dunk contest after scoring a perfect 50 on three of his four attempts.
The 25-year-old went undrafted in 2021 out of Texas Tech and has spent most of the years since playing in the G League. He's averaging 23.6 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game this season.
In addition to McClung, this year's dunk contest will feature Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown, Miami Heat rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr., and New York Knicks forward Jacob Toppin.
