X map shows Lions have most fan support across U.S. entering playoffs

Entering Wild Card Weekend, the Detroit Lions are the most popular NFL team to cheer for in this year's playoffs, new X data shows.

BetOnline.ag created a map based on over 300,000 geotagged tweets containing official team hashtags from the last week. It shows the Lions are favored in nine states, giving them the most fan support across the United States.

The San Francisco 49ers weren't far behind with seven states rooting for them to win. The Miami Dolphins sit in third place with six states. The reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs finished in the middle of the pack with four states.

Buffalo Bills: 5 states
Kansas City Chiefs: 4 states
Dallas Cowboys: 4 states
Baltimore Ravens: 3 states
Philadelphia Eagles: 2 states
Pittsburgh Steelers: 2 states
Green Bay Packers: 1 state
Los Angeles Rams: 1 state
Houston Texans: 1 state

The Lions will host the Rams in the NFC wild-card round on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.
