Texans' Collins ruled out vs. Jets due to calf injury
Houston Texans receiver Nico Collins won't return to Sunday's game against the New York Jets after suffering a calf injury.
The Texans are already shorthanded at wideout after star rookie Tank Dell sustained a season-ending fibula injury last week.
The 24-year-old is amid a career season. After producing a combined 927 yards and three touchdowns in his first two campaigns, Collins leads the Texans with 59 catches for 991 yards and six scores while establishing a strong connection with quarterback C.J. Stroud.
With both offenses failing to score in the first half, Collins had one catch for 13 yards before exiting to capture the first 1,000-yard campaign of his NFL tenure.
Robert Woods, John Metchie, and Noah Brown will lead Houston's receiver group for the remainder of the game.
