Richardson injures throwing shoulder in Week 5 win, X-rays reportedly negative
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson suffered a right shoulder injury in Sunday's 23-16 victory over the Tennessee Titans.
The initial diagnosis is an AC joint sprain, a source told Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The rookie's X-rays were negative, and he'll undergo an MRI to assess the injury further, Pelissero reports.
Richardson carried the ball on an option play and stayed down after being tackled, pointing to his throwing shoulder. He went to the locker room after being examined in the medical tent.
Gardner Minshew II replaced Richardson under center. He completed 11 of 14 pass attempts for 155 yards while leading Indianapolis to a home win
Richardson passed for 98 yards and added two carries for five yards before leaving the game.
The 21-year-old signal-caller missed the team's Week 3 contest against the Baltimore Ravens after suffering a concussion the week before.
Indianapolis selected the Florida product with the No. 4 pick in April's draft.
