Watch: Haaland breaks Salah's record for goals in 38-match season
One record down, one to go.
Erling Haaland scored his 33rd league goal of the season Wednesday, surpassing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah for the most tallies in a 38-match Premier League campaign.
Haaland's 95th-minute strike capped an authoritative 4-1 victory over Arsenal in a crucial clash between the two title rivals at the Etihad Stadium.
The prolific Norwegian is now just one marker shy of tying the overall single-season scoring record in the Premier League. Alan Shearer and Andy Cole share that benchmark, achieving their 34-goal seasons when England's top flight featured 42 matches per year.
