The Boston Red Sox were gifted an opportunity to walk off the Baltimore Orioles, and Adam Duvall did not miss.

With the Orioles leading 8-7 in the ninth inning, Orioles closer Felix Bautista got two quick outs by striking out Rafael Devers and getting Justin Turner to ground out.

Masataka Yoshida then came to the plate as Boston's final hope. He hit a can of corn to left field that was dropped by Ryan McKenna, who was charged with a fielding error.

That sent Duvall to the plate, representing the winning run. The 34-year-old slugger, who was already wielding a hot bat, smoked a two-run, walk-off homer to the Green Monster.

Duvall finished the game 4-for-5 with a pair of home runs, a triple, and a double. He's the first player since Kyle Seager in 2014 to have at least four extra-base hits and every component of the cycle except the single.

"That's my fellow outfielder out there," the Orioles' Austin Hays said after the game, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN. "I know (McKenna) makes that catch 999 times out of 1,000, so it's just one of the hard parts of the game. It could happen at any moment."

The Red Sox and Orioles are now both 1-1 after Baltimore won Thursday's Opening Day contest at Fenway Park. The rubber match is slated for Sunday afternoon, with Tanner Houck set to face off against Orioles lefty Cole Irvin.
