Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider came through in a big way Saturday afternoon.

While he was dining out for lunch with his wife in Dunedin, Florida, Schneider noticed a woman choking at a nearby table.

The Blue Jays skipper leaped into action, performing the Heimlich Maneuver to help save the woman.

The restaurant rewarded Schneider with a free beer for his heroic act.

"I was a little bit rattled afterward, so the beer did come in handy," Schneider said Sunday, according to MLB.com's Keegan Matheson.

Schneider is entering his first full season as Blue Jays manager. He took over on an interim basis after the club fired Charlie Montoyo in July 2022. Schneider led the Blue Jays to a 46-28 record during the remainder of the campaign and led them to the postseason where they were eventually swept by the Seattle Mariners in the American League wild-card series.
