Former NFL tight end Devin Funchess is looking to carve out a new career in basketball.

Funchess told Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson of Bally Sports that he dreamed of playing in the NBA as a kid and is still determined to make it happen.

"I'm still 28 years old, I could still go do something," Funchess said. "I know I'd have to go overseas and play to get some film, but then after that, my dream growing up was to play in the NBA. So that's my main goal, and that's what I'm going to make happen."

Funchess hasn't given up on the NFL, though. He said three teams reached out to him recently and that he's waiting for the "right fit."

Funchess last appeared in an NFL game in 2019 as a member of the Indianapolis Colts. He was on the Detroit Lions' roster for a short time this past offseason. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Carolina Panthers, recording 161 catches for 2,233 yards and 21 touchdowns in 61 games.
