Speaking for the first time since his altercation with Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green, guard Jordan Poole said everyone is moving forward from the incident and focused on winning another title.

"He apologized and we're professionals," Poole told The Athletic's Marcus Thompson II. "We're gonna play basketball and everybody in the locker room and on our team knows what it takes to win a championship."

The Warriors fined Green after video emerged of the former Defensive Player of the Year striking Poole during practice, but they decided not to suspend him. Instead, the forward decided to time away from the team.

Green returned to the Warriors last week after having conversations about how to move forward, saying they wouldn't "hold on to the past."

The Warriors extended Poole on a four-year, $140-million contract that kicks in next season. A four-year, $109-million extension for wing Andrew Wiggins also takes effect in 2023-2024.

Golden State opens its title defense Tuesday at home against the Los Angeles Lakers. Tip-off is slated for 10 p.m. ET.
