Istanbul, Aug 25, 2022 (AFP) - English attacking midfielder Dele Alli has joined Besiktas for one season on loan from Everton, the Turkish club announced Thursday.
The loan includes an option to buy, Besiktas said in a statement.
Twice an English Young Player of the Year when he was at Tottenham for whom he made 181 appearances, Dele, now 26, has struggled in recent seasons.
He was a starter on the England team that reached the World Cup semi-final in 2018 but won the last of his 37 caps in 2019.
He joined Everton in January but has failed to become a first-team regular.
Besiktas, coached since March by Frenchman Valerien Ismael, finished sixth in the Turkish Super Lig last season, after winning a league and cup double the year before.
