The 2022-23 Premier League campaign is kicking off in just over a week.

There is a ton of firepower in the league, with star strikers like Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez joining perennial Golden Boot contenders Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane, and Heung-Min Son, among others, as favorites for the award.

Let's take a look at how the market is shaping up.

Haaland is the favorite to lead the EPL in scoring in his debut season as the focal point of the attack for a Manchester City side seeking its fifth title in six campaigns. The team won't ask him to facilitate offense with intricate passing. Pep will just want him to hammer home the chances that come his way - which should be many.

Not far behind is Salah. He has finished first or tied for first in goal scoring three of the last five years. Equipped with a new contract, Salah has nothing lingering over his head and can focus on being the best player possible for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Kane rounds out the big three. The 28-year-old has netted 183 goals in his Premier League career, and he's a likely candidate to flirt with 20+ this season if healthy. He - like Tottenham Hotspur as a whole - played very well after Antonio Conte's hiring, with only Liverpool and Man City winning more games from Nov. 2 onwards.

Nunez, Son, Ronaldo, and Jesus find themselves in the next price tier. Nunez is a physically dominant finisher and has looked good leading up to the season. How fast can he adjust to Klopp's taxing and hard-pressing system when the games count?

Son is an extreme goal-scoring threat in open-play, but so long as Kane is at Tottenham and healthy, his upside is somewhat capped due to a lack of penalty duties.

With Manchester United going through a transition period under a new manager and rumors rampant about Ronaldo's future, it's fair to wonder how much of a threat he is for a Golden Boot.

Jesus will be hoping a change of scenery - and increased role - can help him reach a level he couldn't get to in Manchester.

Of the rest, Raheem Sterling is perhaps the name that stands out most. Only Salah generated more expected goals on a per 90-minute basis last season.

Sterling knows how to slip past defenders and create chances in tight spaces, and he'll have the keys to the car in Chelsea. He has a 20-goal season on his resume and is only 27 years of age. Perhaps he's primed for another outbreak.
