Julian Edelman played under Bill Belichick for over a decade but admits he still gets intimidated by the New England Patriots head coach.

On the latest episode of the "I Am Athlete" podcast, Edelman recalled a recent conversation he had with Belichick regarding his famous impression of the coach. He also likened Belichick to "Star Wars" villain Emperor Palpatine.

"I just saw him recently, I went and I visited the team. He was like, 'Look, if I have to turn on the f---ing TV and see you doing me every f---ing day, like, what are we f---ing doing here?'" Edelman said. "That's what he would say to me. I'm over here, I'm sitting on eggshells - I'm still scared of the guy, I don't even play for him. He's like the Emperor or something."

Edelman retired from the NFL in 2021 after 12 seasons, all of which were spent in Foxboro. If he ever decided to return to football, Edelman said there's likely only one team he'd consider playing for.

"If I were to ever come back, I would come back as a Pat, probably," he said. "Be part of that."
