Gerald McCoy forked over a lot of money to wear No. 93 after signing with the Carolina Panthers in 2019.

After New York Jets rookie Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner revealed Tuesday that his No. 1 jersey cost him $50,000, McCoy shared the astronomical price he paid fellow defensive tackle Kyle Love to wear No. 93 with the Panthers.

"That ($50,000) is cute. That's cute. But what does your legacy mean to you?" the six-time Pro Bowler said on "NFL Total Access." "I've been wearing 93 since I got to college, so when I went to the Carolina Panthers, I wanted to wear 93. But it didn't cost me ($50,000). It cost me ($250,000)."

McCoy joined Carolina on a one-year, $8-million deal after spending the previous nine seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He compiled 37 tackles and five sacks in his lone season with the Panthers.
