Arsenal held talks with Manchester City's Jesus, says agent
"We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus. We like the project - it's a possibility we're discussing. There are six more clubs interested in Gabriel. He's focused on the final games with Man City; we'll see," Marcelo Pettinati, Jesus' agent, said, according to Fabrizio Romano of The Guardian.
Jesus reportedly rejected City's offer to extend his contract amid rumblings that the club was trying to recruit a new forward, according to Romano.
The 25-year-old still has another year left on his contract, but his future at the Etihad Stadium became even more uncertain following confirmation Tuesday that Manchester City reached an agreement in principle to sign striker Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer.
The Brazil international, who joined Manchester City from Palmeiras in 2017, scored eight times in 26 Premier League appearances this season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal could be in need of a proven Premier League forward this summer with Alexandre Lacazette's and Eddie Nketiah's contracts set to expire at the end of June. Although Lacazette appears likely to leave, the Gunners are believed to be eager to sign Nketiah to an extension.
